WASHINGTON, April 28 — The Secretary of War forwarded today to the Secretary of the Treasury for transmission to Congress urgent deficiency estimates of appropriations amounting to $3,387,630.

This amount is required for the service of fiscal year ending June 30, 1906, for the purpose of replacing military stores destroyed by earthquake at San Francisco, also for repairing damage to cable connections with Angel Island and Alcatraz, in the harbor of San Francisco, and the repair of damage to the general hospital, Presidio, of San Francisco.

The sum of $2,941,473 is estimated by the quartermaster general of the army as the cost of replacing the property of the quartermaster department destroyed, while he also estimates that $75,000 will be required to repair the damage to the general hospital at the Presidio.

The cost of replacing the medical and hospital property destroyed is placed by the surgeon general of the army at $357,391.
